Brassie Creek Copper-Gold Project
The Brassie Creek Copper-Gold Project places Stearman Resources strategically in British Columbia’s prolific Quesnel Trough, rich in copper-gold mines and projects, with its geological formations extending from Washington State to the Yukon border.
British Columbia’s operating copper-gold Mines in the Quesnel Trough include New Gold’s New Afton Mine, HudBay’s Copper Mountain Mine, Taseko Mines’ Gibraltar Mine, Imperial Metals’ Mount Polley Mine, Centerra’s Mount Milligan Mine and Teck’s Highland Valley Mine.
Brassie Creek Copper-Gold Project is also central to significant major explorers in the Quesnel Trough, with Fortesque and Boliden situated nearby to the north of Brassie Creek, both recently staking 10’s of thousands of hectares of prospective Quesnel Trough geology.
Mid Tier explorers such as Kodiak Copper, Tower Resources, TORR Metals and Golden Sky Minerals have taken significant positions in the Quesnel Trough and are actively exploring.
In summary, The Quesnel Trough Porphyry Belt is a specific zone or belt within the Quesnel Terrane where conditions were particularly conducive to the formation of copper-gold porphyry deposits. From a geological and economic perspective, the Quesnel Trough Porphyry Belt is considered one of Canada’s most critical mineral belts. Its ongoing potential for new mineral discoveries continues to make it a focal point for exploration and development activities in the Canadian mining sector. (source-eResearch Corporation).
Brassie Creek Copper-Gold Project, situated approximately 20 km north of Highland Valley and 35 km west of New Afton mines, is host to dioritic rocks, likely of Guichon Creek Batholith origin, the source for Highland Valley Copper Mine mineralization, via major faults like the Lornex Fault. The dioritic rocks at Brassie Creek intrude the Nicola Volcanics, converting limestone to marble, and likely providing the polymetallic skarn-type mineralization abundant within the project claims. The dioritic rocks may be the extension of the Guichon Batholith/Lornex Fault that has been traced north from Highland Valley but disappears under overburden just south of Brassie Creek.
